The change in the way I approach the issues facing me and the shift in my outlook when I look at certain occasions/happening always make me wonder struck. The particular thing that moved me yet again was the way I look at the worshiping crowd of people and the 'POOJA' rituals in the temple.
'Pradosham' time these days gives me the urge to join the hundreds of devotees, lose the sense of ' I ' and merge with the countless prayers and try to soak in that fleeting sense of breaking from the limiting identity to be one with the entire creation. (Difficult to believe? But it is true!)
I walk along the North Mada street and turn right to enter through the small gate where you can see Lord Shiva on the Rishabha Vahana turn the bend and come to face the 'Sannidhi'. At times, It will appear like He is coming straight to you - ' தானே வந்தெம்மை தலையளித்தாட்கொண்டருளும் அன்பாகத் தெரியும்.
The slight nip in the air, sunlight slowly fading and the moon only two nights away from 'Poornima' gently engulfing every thing with his cool light looks as though he wants to join the devotees to salute the Lord. I looked around me and found utmost faith and reverence. there might be varying degrees of spiritual knowledge, but that was not a deterrent for any one to converge there as one to sing Bhajans with such abandon or chant His names individually with concentration. There! That moment I crave for touched me for few seconds - I was immersed in the singing, chanting and praying going all around me and my mind emptied of all thoughts I beheld the sight of 'அம்மையப்பன்'.
Wish, I could lose my ego in that 'total surrender' attitude for longer time!
